INSTALLATION IDEAS

Adding architectural stone veneer accents to your home will transform the entire atmosphere.

There are 3 key components in achieving a rustic yet elegant surrounding in your home...

1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT AREA

Some practical areas for stone veneer accents are fireplaces, kitchen bar faces and backsplashes, columns, arches, dining, living, and bedroom candle walls.

2. PICK THE RIGHT STONE
    PROFILE & COLOR

The best thing to do when selecting a profile is to look at online samples and determine which style fits you. This means deciding between stacked stone, ledge stone, fieldstone etc.

Once you settle on a profile you need to select a color.

When choosing a color write down several of the ones you like and physically go look at the sample. Online image colors can be inaccurate.

Also, it is good to note that the company will allow you to take the sample home.

3. CHOOSE THE BEST INSTALLER

This is the most important component.

Stone work is square foot driven but not like carpet or roofing shingles where there is essentially one way to install it.

Fitting stones properly is an artwork. Therefore it is key to achieving the elegance that couples with the rustic feature of stone. This is accomplished by taking the necessary time to fit and cut the stones that require it.

The grave mistake that a lot of home owners make is hiring the installer with the lowest price.

When an installer chooses not to do the necessary cutting, which requires going in and out of the house, it enables them to finish more quickly.

So, in order to complete the installation without the necessary cutting, the installer will "spread out" or widen the joints and use golf ball sized pieces to plug the area that should not be there had the cutting been done. The result is an overall sloppy appearance.  It looks rustic yes, but it lacks the elegance that interior accents require.
